Muse Machine launches its 30th year with music from one of the most popular shows of all time! MeadWestvaco presents Muse Machine in concert – Tonight: The Songs of West Side Story & More on August 10 and 11 at the Victoria Theatre. Featuring new concepts and arrangements, Tonight reimagines favorite songs including ‘Maria,’ ‘America,’ ‘Somewhere’ and many others into fresh musical numbers. Featuring nearly 200 singers, dancers and musicians ranging in age from Muse alum down to very young students, the concert is a who’s who of talent from across the Miami Valley.

“West Side Story was the first Muse musical, so it’s a way to glance back while also looking forward by bringing new sounds and choreography to this great music,” said Douglas Merk, producer. “We may be joined by a guest or two and we’ll also explore a few ‘related diversions’, meaning some surprises that are beyond our theme, but inspired by it. We may spill a few of those beans in the weeks ahead.”

Auditions are at the Muse Studio (next to the Victoria Theatre, downtown Dayton) on July 19 (evening only) and 20 and you may call for an audition appointment beginning July 5: 222-MUSE ext 401. Any alum of a Muse musical or concert, any high school or middle school Muse member or any Miami Valley elementary school student may audition.
