Chim-chiminey, chim-chim-cheroo, the Mary Poppins cast is coming to dance with you…
In this free master class, members of the cast of Mary Poppins will teach a portion of a an actual dance number from the hit Broadway show! Participants will dance for an hour and then have time for Q&A with the cast.
You certainly don’t have to be a “dancer” to attend, but attendees should have some sort of dance experience (in a school show, etc). Wear clothing appropriate to dance in (you don’t have to have “dance clothes”, but you must be able to move freely and not overheat).
Muse Machine members grades 12-7 may register by clicking the link below. There is a super short online registration and then a photo form to print out and bring with you.
The workshop is free and sponsored by our friends at the Victoria Theatre Association!

This is a fantastic opportunity for Muse Machine student members who are visual artists and currently in grade 11.
The Muse Machine Lorenzo Bassani Visual Art Scholarship sends one student to the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation Summer Session in Colorado Springs, tuition and travel paid! The two-week program includes intense, college-level drawing and painting classes taught by artists-in-residence in a group studio setting. Sessions about careers in art, development of a portfolio and more will also be included. Students will also enjoy trips to draw and paint in the mountains, visit museums, Pikes Peak and more!
Students simply submit 6-10 images of their work – complete details can be found and downloaded online along with the simple application form. A special extended deadline for Muse students has been set for April 19!

Fred Garbo has traveled the globe as a world-class juggler and tumbler, starred on Broadway and on television, including recurring appearances on Late Night with David Letterman and Sesame Street (as Barkley the Dog!). He continues his national tours with his Inflatable Theatre Company and he’ll stop in Dayton for a performance at the Victoria Theatre and for this free workshop for high school and middle school Muse Machine members! In this very physical workshop, Fred will demonstrate some aspects of physical comedy for the stage as well as a bit of stage combat!
